Nestled along The Esplanade in the laid-back suburb of Mount Pleasant, this riverside cafe offers a casual and cozy spot for anyone looking to enjoy a quiet coffee or a simple, satisfying bite. The outdoor seating area catches plenty of shade and fresh air, making it a nice place to linger on a crisp spring morning or a mild afternoon. Visitors often come for the well-crafted coffees—think flat whites served with a complimentary biscuit or a mocha latte that strikes a comfortable balance without stretching the wallet. The food tends toward straightforward, comforting choices like cheese and tomato toasties, which pair well with a quick breakfast smoothie or a refreshing frappe.
The vibe is informal yet welcoming, suitable for solo diners seeking a moment of calm or small groups enjoying a casual catch-up by the river. Families feel at ease here too, with kid-friendly options and enough seating spread out to accommodate strollers and wheelchair access without fuss. There’s a relaxed rhythm to the place, with friendly staff and a steady flow of neighborhood regulars who appreciate the easygoing pace and practical approach—takeout is straightforward, but lingering to watch life along the nearby jetty can be just as rewarding.
Parking is generally convenient, with free spots both on the street and in the lot nearby, and while you won’t find table service here, the staff’s approachable attitude makes ordering and collecting your food an uncomplicated process. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor area, adding to the local, communal feel. Whether you’re stopping by after a stroll along the Swan Canning River or seeking a casual spot for brunch, this cafe blends quiet riverside charm with dependable coffee and uncomplicated fare.

5 Staff are so friendly this was my view this morning while I enjoyed my iced coffee don’t ya just love Perth
5 Does not get much better than this on a decent spring day. Crisp service, awesome mocha for not taking out a second mortgage typical Perth pricing as seems to be the fashion these days, thanks and will be back.
5 It was a rare sunny day and the nearby river side cafes were all packed. We rolled up to the caravan at the park under Mt. Henry Bridge and after a short wait ordered two lovely coffees and two truly scrumptious cheese and tomato toasties. We sat on one of the tables under the temporary sun shades on plastic chairs and ate our toasties taking in the lovely view of the river and the (should be) frost bitten water skiers. Hats off to the operators of this little gem. A big is effort needed on behalf of the proprietor who has to set everything up, tables, chairs, sun shades, everything, every morning and take it down, every night.
5 What a pleasant little spot. Prices are very competitive for a Cafe that has a monopoly on this spot. The food is delicious, there's plenty of shaded seating, no complaints here.
5 What an outdoor cafe to have Crema coffee. Mr Tony, the boss, said he opened 7 days a week since 3 years ago. The coffee seemed medium roasted and it was complemented with a free biscuit. It was good to have a coffee break after a long walk along the Swan Canning River. The children playground and the jetty are just a minute walk from this cafe. The mobile cafe closed at 3 PM. Enjoy! (2021-09)
5 Love this little gem here, great coffee and the sandwiches are pretty damn delicious for your morning taste buds !! Freshly made to order, the wait time is sometimes between 7-12 min but it gets busy, it's expected, and it's worth it. Give it a try on your walk around the neighborhood! I hear they also started a wood fired pizza night as of June 2024! Opening times: Weekdays open 7-2 and weekends 7-2.30pm.
5 A great place to have a light breakfast or drink by the river. Plenty of seating despite the popular spot. A bike rack is also available to park your bike while enjoying a post ride coffee.
5 I love this casual place. I was doing a long walk and after crossing the bridge I was in need of a coffee. All of a sudden I see this little oasis where I got a coffee and a toasty. Friendly staff and sitting at a table on the grass just completed the experience.
Customers often enjoy the cheese and tomato toasties, Flat White served with a free biscuit, and the Mocha Latte.

Spring and sunny days are popular, but arriving before the midday rush often means a more peaceful experience.
